The seventh most visited attraction in Ireland, the National Botanical Gardens of Ireland are home to over 20,000 plant specimens and millions more dried plant samples. Various plant habitats containing different plant species have been established, as well as a vegetable garden. The facilities at the Gardens are also used for horticultural research and orchid breeding. Free guided tours are available to the public at 12 pm and 2:30 pm. Group tours are to be booked in advance and are charged a rate of €2 per person.

Saturday, Sundays & Public Holidays – 10:00am to 4:30pm

Summer (March to October)
Monday – Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday, Sundays & Public Holidays – 10:00am to 6:00pm

The glasshouses close at 4:15pm during Winter hours.
